Polygamy in Malaysia

This video is all about modern day polygamy in Malaysia and how it is viewed by not only the husband, but also the wives. It is surprising for me to see how good of a relationship these women have with each other and how they view each other as sisters. It is also interesting how the different wives take on different roles, with some working and some staying at home to cook and take care of children. The husbands view was shocking for me to see as well due to the fact that he comes out and says that he is the leader of the house and that you need wisdom to be able to be in a polygamous relationship. This video really shares great insight into how polygamy is viewed in South Africa and how it is viewed among  its own people. Its really interesting to see how the children of polygamous marriages see it as such a positive and how accepting most of the population is to it. Check out the video here

Introduction

Polygamy is defined as "The condition or practice of having more than one spouse at one time". In the past polygamy has been practiced in many major religions, including Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Mormonism, and Christianity. Whilst it is now both illegal and forbidden in many countries and religion, polygamy does still exist. This blog will focus on modern day polygamy and how it is view by cultures throughout the world. I chose the topic of polygamy because of the increased interest in the topic over the past couple of years due to television shows such as 'Big Love' and 'Sister Wives'. This topic is very interesting to me and i look forward to exploring it further.
