Polygamy in Malaysia
This video is all about modern day polygamy in Malaysia and how it is viewed by not only the husband, but also the wives. It is surprising for me to see how good of a relationship these women have with each other and how they view each other as sisters. It is also interesting how the different wives take on different roles, with some working and some staying at home to cook and take care of children. The husbands view was shocking for me to see as well due to the fact that he comes out and says that he is the leader of the house and that you need wisdom to be able to be in a polygamous relationship. I thought this was so interesting! Although, I have not indulged in the show Sister Wives, I have heard much about it. I did not realize how close the wives were though. They literally do act as sisters would, but this idea is so weird because these women haven't known each other for their whole lives like sisters have. As a member of a critical society, I can say that I was very harsh in judging those in a polygamous relationship. This video has given me a different view though!
ReplyDeleteWow this video really opened up my mindset on your topic. Although here in the US it is looked down upon by most I didn't realize how normal a marriage with various wives could be. You have such a hot topic right now especially with the show Sister Wives and I'm glad to see all the different views of it that you are delivering to your audience. It was very interesting to see a broader view of polygamy and can't wait to read more!
